These style guidelines have been developed to enhance and speed up the review and editing process for contributions. We will ask the author to revise any part of a paper that deviates in large part from these guidelines. After revisions are made, the editor reserves the right to make further changes in the interest of brevity, clarity and consistency in the magazine's style.

We accept papers that are generally no longer than 2,500 words, and provide a 100-word summary. |

Articles should be written in the third person. Sentences should not be passive and should include action verbs. |

Sentences should be simple with a minimum of technical language. Brevity is key. |
 |
Papers must begin with an introduction that catches the attention of readers and puts the topic in context, i.e. why should readers read the article? |
 |
Research findings cited should immediately be followed with the findings' significance in terms of their relevance to the article's theme. |
 |
Citations should be footnoted. |

Papers
based on original research should include an executive summary
no longer than 750 words, which explains what the researchers
set out to do; why they felt it was necessary to conduct
this research; an explanation of the methodology; the results
of the research; and the conclusion - what the results mean
to the reader of CIR. Authors should submit three copies
of the paper, double-spaced and with numbered papers, as
well as e-mail an electronic version to caroline.cakebread@rogers.com
and halpern@rotman.utoronto.ca.
The front page should include the authors' full titles and
phone numbers. |
The
review process normally takes about four weeks.
