Kee-Hong Bae
Professor Kee-Hong Bae is a Bank of Montreal associate professor of finance at the Queen's School of Business of the Queen's University. He received his B.A. and M.A. from Korea University and Ph.D. degree from the Ohio State University. Before joining Queen's University, he has taught at the City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and Korea University. Professor Bae has published numerous research articles in top finance journals such as Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Business, and Journal of Financial Markets. Professor Bae serves in the editorial board of Pacific Basin Finance Journal and as a senior research fellow in the Global Corporate Governance Academic Network at Yale University.

Robert Baillie

His team is responsible for the growth and development of the custody and fund administration business, as well as the relationship management of the company's strategic clients throughout North America. Before taking on his current role, Robert was responsible for the company's Ontario region. Prior to joining RBC in 1994, he held various senior positions in sales and sales management. Dexton Blackstock
Dexton is vice-president and director at State Street Global Markets Canada Inc. He joined the firm in 2000. Dexton is responsible for delivering State Street research and trading products to the asset owner community in Canada. Dexton brings over 10 years capital markets experience to SSGM. Don is editor of Benefits Canada magazine, a monthly publication for the pension and benefits industry. He joined the Rogers Publishing Healthcare and Financial Services Group in April 2000 and led the editorial team at Canadian Healthcare Manager magazine for four years before joining Benefits Canada. Don is a winner of the Kenneth R. Wilson Award for editorial writing. Louise Charette
Louise is currently manager, Administration of Assets, for Alcan's Pension Funds. Chris Cockburn
Chris is a vice-president and relationship manager for Capital Guardian with client relations and marketing responsibilities. Prior to joining the organization in 2001, he spent five and a half years as managing director for Russell/Mellon Products and Services where he was responsible for relationship management, business development and operations. Before that, he spent two and a half years with State Street Trust Company, where he started as a manager of Institutional Fund Accounting and later served as an officer in the foreign exchange department. Jamie Colliver
Jamie is a principal at Putnam PanAgora Integra Canada where he is responsible for institutional marketing and business development. Putnam PanAgora Integra Canada (PPI Canada), provides Canadian institutional investors with a full range of global equity, fixed income and absolute return strategies from Putnam and PanAgora. With over 30 years experience in capital markets, Jamie was previously managing director and global head of fixed income sales and marketing for Scotia Capital Markets. Neil Constable
Dr. Constable is a vice-president at State Street Associates in Cambridge. He is primarily involved with quantitative research in portfolio construction and the development of novel risk management products. Before joining SSA in 2004 he was a post-doctoral associate in the Center for Theoretical Physics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Neil received his Ph.D. in theoretical physics from McGill University in Canada. He was awarded the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada Post-doctoral Fellowship for the work done in his doctoral thesis. Neil also holds a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Mathematics from Cambridge University in the U.K. and a B.Sc., first class honors, in physics from the University of Calgary. Stephen Cotsman
Stephen has held the position of managing director/CEO, CBC Pension Plan since 1995. The CBC Pension Plan is a defined benefit plan with $4 billion in assets. Assets are diversified among numerous portfolios within the major classes of equities, bonds and strategic investments. The Fund is approximately 55% internally managed. Prior to managing the pension plan, Stephen was vice-president, Finance and Administration (CFO) of the CBC for nine years. Previous employment included seven years at the Federal Department of Indian Affairs and Northern Development and five years at Public Works Canada. Stephen has a BA-economics and a MBA-finance, both from the University of British Columbia. He lives in Ottawa and is married with three children. top 

Stefan Cowell
Stefan is manager, Pension Asset Management for Canadian Pacific Railway. He is responsible for the overall investment management program, including both defined benefit and defined contribution pension plans for both Canadian and US employees, with total assets in excess of 6.0 billion dollars. He is also active within the CFA Institute, and is a past-president of the Edmonton CFA Chapter. He obtained a BA from the University of Calgary, a MBA from Queen's University and he is a CFA charter holder. top 

Kevin Cronin
Kevin is a senior managing director and head of Investments at Putnam. He also serves as chief investment officer of Putnam’s Fixed Income group. He joined Putnam and the Fixed Income team in 1997 as a mortgage team leader. After a series of promotions within Fixed Income, he was named chief investment officer of the Fixed Income Team in 2001. Kevin is a member of Putnam’s Interest Rate Committee, as well as a member of Putnam’s Executive Board of Directors and Advisory Council and MMC’s Partners’ Group. Jillian Dann
Jillian is an account manager for Benefits Canada, Avantages, Canadian Investment Review, Canadian Healthcare Manager and the CPF Directories. She is responsible for working with both new and existing clients on strategic marketing initiatives, including advertising, conference sponsorships, custom projects and research. Prior to joining Rogers Publishing, she held a business development position within The Canadian Institute’s legal and financial conference division. Scott serves as director of Canada Fixed Income and is also a member of the Global Fixed Income team for Alliance Bernstein/Alliance Capital. Prior to joining the Canada Fixed Income team, he performed quantitative investment analysis at the firm including asset-liability, asset allocation, return attribution and risk analysis. Prior to joining Alliance Capital, Scott was a risk management market analyst at Santander Investment Securities. He also held positions as a senior consultant at Ernst & Young Consulting and at Andersen Consulting. He is a member of the Global Association of Risk Professionals. James Donald
James is a managing director of Lazard Asset Management LLC and Head of the Emerging Markets Group. Prior to joining the Firm in 1996, James worked at Mercury Asset Management, which he joined in 1985. At Mercury Asset Management he was on the emerging markets team between 1992 and 1996, and worked on the international equity team between 1985 and 1992. Prior to this assignment, he was managing the bond portfolio for the pension fund. Phillip Falls

Paul is a professor of finance and the Toronto Stock Exchange chair in capital markets at the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto. Andrew holds the Charles Webb Professorship in Finance in the Fisher College of Business at Ohio State University. He is the director of the OSU Student Investment Management (SIM) program which, at $20 million in assets, is the largest student-run investment fund in the U.S. and Canada. Charles Lee
Charles is the Henrietta Johnson Louis Professor of Management, and Professor of Accounting and Finance at Cornell University. He is currently on leave from Cornell, and holds the position of Managing Director and Global Head of Equity Research at Barclays Global Investors (BGI) in San Francisco. Charles has received numerous awards for both his research and teaching. He is a Chartered Accountant from Ontario, Canada, and received his Ph.D. from Cornell University in 1990. From 1990 to 1996, he was a faculty member at the University of Michigan Business School. In 1995-96, he was Visiting Economist to the New York Stock Exchange. top

Roger Melançon
Roger is the senior advisor benefits for the National Bank of Canada. He has worked at the National Bank of Canada for 35 years with 30 of those in Human Resources where he worked, in part, in cash compensation. He was also responsible for the employee benefits program. In 1990, Roger set up a flexible employeee benefits program and, in 2000, developed an internal governance structure for the pension plan and continue to focus on workplace attendance management. top
 

Richard Nino
As vice-president of Business Development, Richard heads up CIBC Global Asset Management's institutional sales activities throughout North America. Rick was most recently involved in launching CIBC Global Asset Management's U.S. subsidiary, and played a key role in its phenomenal sales success. Rick joined CIBC Global Asset Management in 1998 following almost two decades of human resources and executive leadership experience at a number of leading Canadian firms. Tim Pardee
As regional head, Western Canada, Tim is responsible for RBC Dexia Investor Services' custody business in the four Western provinces. Rajiv Silgardo
Rajiv is the chief executive officer of BGI Canada. In this role, he has overall responsibility for BGI's operations in Canada and is responsible for the coordination of Barclays Group business activities in Canada. He is also the Chief Investment Officer locally. Rajiv has over 20 years of experience in investment management. He received his CFA designation in 1990. Prior to that, Rajiv earned his MBA in 1982 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and his Bachelor of Commerce (honors) and Master of Commerce degrees from Delhi University in 1978 and 1980. John Sinclair
John is the president and chief executive officer of the New Brunswick Investment Management Corporation. He is also the Chief Investment Officer in which he is responsible for the overall direction and coordination of the investment activity for over $7B in pension plan assets. Prior to joining the corporation, in June of 2000, he had worked in a number of corporate and structured finance positions with a well known global investment bank. Yves is director of actuarial, development and strategic planning at Commission Administrative des Régimes de Retraite et d'Assurances. CARRA is the administrator of the provincial public sector pension plans in Québec, where there are 512,000 active members and 190,000 retirees. Yves also coordinates the activities of the investment committees of the main plans which assets, invested at the Caisse de dépôt et placement, amount to $40 billion. Garry is the general manager

He is also involved in developing and managing the security and trusts related to reclamation, Health and Welfare (and WCB) in Canada and the US. Gerry is a graduate of UBC, a CMA and has a MBA. Formerly Gerry was the Controller at Cominco's Sullivan Mine and also spent several years in working in the tax with Cominco and CRA. He also was a director for the College of the Rockies and East Kootenay Chamber of Mines for several years, currently chairs the BC Mining Association Finance Committee, is a director of Cominco (UK) and a member of four company pension committees. top
