Giselle joined Ontario Power Generation (OPG) as vice-president and
treasurer in March 2000. She is responsible for OPG's

since 1995. The CBC Pension Plan is a defined benefit plan with $3.5

Fred is vice-president, securities finance and global products for RBC
Global Services. He is responsible for the strategic direction, growth and
profitability of asset optimization products, which include hedge fund
services, tri-party repurchase, and securities lending and borrowing in 27
markets around the world. In addition to asset optimization, he is
responsible for RBC Global Services' suite of investment analytics and
trade management services for institutional investors. He is also the
global head of treasury products. Fred holds degrees from Concordia and

Jeff is managing
director of State Street Global Markets Canada. He is responsible for
coordinating the business development and sales efforts for SSB. He
formerly held a similar position at State Street’s securities lending unit where he was
responsible for marketing the securities lending product to State Street’s global custody clients as well as
prospective new clients. Jeff joined State Street in 1995 after three years at Fidelity
Investments where he was senior vice-president responsible for sales of
electronic trading and institutional clearing. Jeff received a

Paul Halpern is a professor of finance and the
Toronto Stock Exchange chair in capital markets at the Rotman
School of Management, University of Toronto.
He is chair of the advisory board of the Canadian Investment Review and
the associate director of the Capital Markets Institute at the University of Toronto.
He received his PhD in finance from the University of Chicago
and has published research and applied papers for both academic and practitioner
journals. He has published a corporate finance textbook, Canadian

Stanley Hamilton is the Philip H. White professor of urban land economics
and senior associate dean, faculty of commerce and business administration,
University of British Columbia.
He has had extensive teaching and research experience in the area of real
estate analysis and valuation. His current research interests include the
role of real estate in portfolios and pension governance and
administration. Professor Hamilton is presently the director of the Bureau
of Asset Management at UBC and the chair of the board of trustees of the
UBC Faculty Pension Plan. He is also a trustee of CREIT, a real estate

Rob Heinkel is the PMF alumni professor of
finance at the University of British Columbia.

Professor Heinkel is a past director of the UBC
Bureau of Asset Management and currently sits on advisory boards for the
B.C. Securities Commission and the B.C. Provincial Treasury. Professor Heinkel received his PhD in finance from UC Berkeley in

Mark is managing partner of Windham Capital Management Boston, a senior
