An Index and Active Manager
In Canada, we have offices in Toronto and Montreal. Investors here often consider us one of the industry's indexing giants, a compliment we're glad to accept. But we offer much more. We also manage asset allocation and risk-controlled active strategies. In fact, during 2002 Barclays Global Investors Canada (BGI Canada) was the second fastest growing pension asset management firm in terms of dollars of active equity assets, index assets and total pension assets.

BGI Canada is an indirect subsidiary of Barclays PLC and part of Barclays Global Investors. BGI Canada is the third largest manager of pension assets in Canada (Benefits Canada; November 2002), with assets of approximately C$35 billion.
