Ken is director of investments for the Alberta Teachers' Retirement
Fund Board. He implemented the fund's investment structure with
internal and external specialist managers for Canadian, U.S. and
EAFE equity mandates, plus a Canadian fixed income mandate. Previously,
Ken worked at the Great-West Life Assurance Company where he provided
investment counsel to pension clients and served on the executive
of the Winnipeg Society of Financial Analysts. He currently serves
on the investment committee at the University of Alberta and is

Mary is an assistant professor of finance at the University of South
Carolinas Moore School of Business. She has been on the faculty
since 1999. She previously taught at Michigan State University and
the University of Oregon. Marys articles have been published

of Corporate Finance, Applied Economics and Quarterly
Journal of Business and Economics. Her current research interests
include investor behaviour, earnings management and corporate governance.

Arturo Bris
Professor Bris holds the Robert B. and Candice J. Haas assistant
professorship in corporate finance at Yale School of Management.
His research focuses on international finance and financial regulation.
He has done research on the effects of exchange rate regimes on
firms capital structure, as well as on issues regarding the
regulation of financial markets. In particular, he has explored
the efficacy of insider trading laws, and the optimal design of
bankruptcy laws. He has also analyzed empirically the impact of
short sales restrictions on the efficiency of markets around the
world. Professor Bris has been published in a number of journals
including the Journal of Corporate Finance and the Journal

Andrew is chief executive officer of Nunavut Trust, and a board
member and treasurer of Tradex Management Inc. and the Tradex Equity
Fund. Previously, he was the manager of Canada Mortgage and Housing
Corporation (CMHC) Pension Fund and held various senior planning
and financial positions at CMHC. He has an MBA from the Richard
Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario, where

Michael is manager, pension and employee funds for Imperial Oil

Chris has been responsible for administering the $1.2 billion VIA
Rail Canada pension fund since 1991. As director, investment and

Julie has been director, external managers at Hospitals of Ontario
Pension Plan (HOOPP) since September 2001. Before that she worked
at CIBC for 16 years in various corporate treasury roles, most recently

Julie is active in the Pension Investment Association of Canada

national practice leader and worldwide partner with the Mercer Investment
Consulting practise. Professionally, Bill is a fellow of the Canadian
Institute of Actuaries and fellow of the Society of Actuaries and
also is a frequent speaker and author on various pension benefit
and investment issues. He holds an honours B.Math in actuarial science

John is executive vice-president and co-chief investment officer
at Acadian Asset Management. Along with his key portfolio management
role, he is responsible for the firm's quantitative valuation techniques,

Acadian's stock, industry, and country selection models. He is a

and operations. Before that, he spent two and a half years with

Jamie is partner at Integra Capital Management where he heads Integra

is a joint venture between Integra and several world-class investment

27 years experience in the financial services industry, Jamie was
a founding partner, president and head of sales and distribution
for a Canadian mutual fund company. He is a graduate of the University

Jean-François is managing director of State Street Global
Markets and principal officer at State Street Bank and Trust Company
- Canada Branch. He is also a managing director of State Street

Robert is a director with the institutional client services team

Chris Draper
Chris joined the CPP Investment Board in January 2001. His responsibilities
include conducting research to support the development of investment
policies, value-added strategies and risk management. Prior to joining
the CPP Investment Board, Chris spent four years at Frank Russell
Canada where he was a senior research analyst in the consulting
department. He was responsible for conducting asset liability analysis,
creating quantitative investment tools and assisting in the development
of investment policies for large pension funds. Chris is a fellow
of the Society of Actuaries and is a CFA charter holder. He received

Pierre is currently coordinator of pension fund investments for
Domtar Inc., a portfolio of approximately $800 million. Prior to
this assignment, he was managing the bond portfolio for the pension
fund. Before joining Domtar in 1996, Pierre worked for STCUM (Montréal
Transit Corporation) and for the Caisse de Dépôt et
Placement du Québec where he participated in the development
and implementation of Value at Risk models and worked as an analyst
in the fixed income department. Pierre has a master of finance from

Professor Froot is the André R. Jakurski professor of business
administration at Harvard University's Graduate School of Business.
He teaches courses in capital markets, international finance, and
risk management. He has taught executive education programs at MIT,
Harvard, Princeton, Dartmouth, in addition to his regular teaching
of MBAs and PhDs. Professor Froots research covers a range
of topics in finance and international economics. He is editor of
the Journal of International Financial Management and Accounting
and associate editor of the Journal of International Economics.
He is a member of the American Finance Association and the American
Economics Association. Professor Froot received his BA from Stanford
University and his PhD from the University of California at Berkeley.

Paul is senior vice-president, investment management and chief investment

Jeffrey Grossman
Jeff is senior vice-president of equity trading for State Street
Global Markets, LLC. He is responsible for coordinating the business
development and sales efforts for SSB. He formerly held a similar
position at Securities Lending where he was responsible for marketing
the securities lending product to State Streets Global Custody
clients as well as prospective new clients. Jeff joined State Street
in 1995 after three years at Fidelity Investments where he was senior
vice-president responsible for sales of electronic trading and institutional
clearing. Jeff received a bachelors degree in liberal Arts

Dr. Stanley Hamilton
Stan is the Philip H. White professor of urban land economics, and
senior associate dean, faculty of commerce and business administration,
University of British Columbia. He has had extensive teaching and
research experience in the area of real estate analysis and valuation.
His current research interests include the role of real estate in
portfolios and pension governance and administration. Stan is presently
the director of the Bureau of Asset Management at UBC and the chair
of the board of trustees of the UBC Faculty Pension Plan. He is
also a trustee of CREIT, a real estate investment trust. Stan is

Rob is the PMF alumni professor of finance at the University of
British Columbia. He is the faculty supervisor for the UBC Portfolio
Management Foundation and oversees investments for the UBC Faculty
Pension Plan, the Healthcare Benefit Trust and the Clayoquot Biosphere
Trust. Rob is a past-director of the UBC Bureau of Asset Management
and currently sits on advisory boards for the B.C. Securities Commission
and the B.C. Provincial Treasury. Rob received his PhD in finance
from UC Berkeley in 1979 and his research interests span investment

Grace is an analyst and portfolio manager with the corporate bonds
team of CDP Capital World Markets. Based in the Montreal office,
she is responsible for the teams investment activities in
Asian corporate bonds. Prior to joining CDP Capital in 2001, Grace
was an assistant manager with Credit Agricole in China, where she
supervised the credit function of the banks corporate banking
activities in southern China. Before that, she was an investment
analyst with the Bank of China. Grace holds a bachelor of economics

Peter Jarvis
Peter is a vice-president with the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement
Board (OMERS), and is responsible for the management of all fixed
income programs, cash management, and the development and implementation
of OMERS Alternative Strategies program. He is also a part of the

fund. Prior to OMERS, Peter was vice-president of fixed income at
TAL and vice-president and director in charge of trading at Scotia

Nancy is a senior vice-president, director and a member of the executive
committee of Capital Guardian Trust Company (CGTC). She is also

Markets Growth Fund. Nancy is an international equity and emerging
markets portfolio manager and as chair of the CGTC international
subcommittee she helps coordinate the asset allocation process for

company in 1991, Nancy was a managing director at J.P. Morgan Investment
Management Inc. She has a BA in political science from Connecticut

Media. Jim joined Rogers in November 2000. A journalist since 1987,

Global Strategy, as well as reporter/editor with The Canadian Press-Broadcast
News and as wire service editor with Standard Broadcast News. He

Richard is manager, pension fund administration for Canada Mortgage
and Housing Corporation (CMHC). He has held various senior positions
in the Finance and Treasury Departments within CMHC. He formulates

to CMHC, Richard was the controller and treasurer of Loto Canada
Inc. He is a chartered accountant and holds a number of certificates

John is currently the director, pension investment finance and administration
with the new Canada Post Pension Fund. Since 1985 he has also worked
in Ottawa as CFO for the Civil Service Co-Operative Credit Society

Imperial Oil and corporate and government banking at the Bank of
Montreal. John is the founding president of TMAC and is a member

Giulio Martini
Giulio joined Bernstein in 1985 as a senior economist concentrating
on U.S. research. He assumed his current role of senior portfolio
manager and international economist in 1992. He is involved with
a number of Bernsteins investment policy groups including,
global, global balanced, international and emerging markets, Canadian
fixed income, and European and U.K. equity. Prior to joining Bernstein,
he conducted economic research for the Institute for Employment
Policy at Boston University, where he was also a lecturer in economics.
Giulio earned a BA from the University of Colorado in 1977 and an
MAPE from Boston University in 1985. He has completed all course

Hayes is a member of both the global equity group and the strategic
policy group, and the head of the North American investment management
team at Baring Asset Management. In this role, he has developed
country screening models for the companys global and EAFE
equity products. Hayes joined Baring Asset Management in 1994 as
a portfolio manager with responsibility for global equities. In
1997 he was appointed a member of the North American investment
management team and became the head of the team in 2001. Hayes has
a BA in economics and political science from Vanderbilt University,

Trust. Randall received his B.Comm. finance and honours BA in economics

Tim is regional vice-president for Western Canada at RBC Global
Services, Institutional and Investor Services. In this role he is

Jai is currently acting chief investment officer at Alberta Revenue

Hal Parker
Hal is the investment officer of the Prince Edward Island Provincial
Treasury. In this role he acts as administrator to the external
investment managers that invest the funds of the Provinces
MasterTrust, which includes the pension assets of the Islands
civil servants, teachers and members of the legislative assembly.
He also directly invests the funds of the provinces Sinking
Fund. A native of the province, he has three degrees including an

Dennis Perry
Dennis is president of Connor, Clark & Lunn Arrowstreet Capital
Ltd., where he is responsible for implementing the company's business
plan in Canada. From 1989 to 2001, Dennis was a partner in The CC&L
Financial Services Group. He has been in the investment industry
since 1970, working in Toronto, New York and Vancouver. Dennis is
a fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute and a graduate of

Tom Phelps
In 2002, after 32 years, Tom moved from Noranda Inc. to become chief
economist at Brascan Financial Corporation. He continues to advise
Noranda in the investment management of its $1 billion Canadian
pension plans. Before assuming his pension responsibilities in 1990
he was involved with a wide range of treasury and corporate finance

Peter Rathjens
Peter is managing partner and CIO at Arrowstreet Capital where he
has overall responsiblity for Arrowstreet's investment products
and chairs the firm's investment committee. Previously, he was the
chief investment officer and director of global investments at PanAgora
Asset Management. Peter has also held academic positions at Princeton
University and Brandeis University. His has been published in the
Journal of Forecasting and the Review of Economics and
Statistics. Peter received a PhD and MA in economics from Princeton
University and a BA in economics and mathematics from Oberlin College.

Dr. Bill Rentz
Dr. Rentz is an associate professor of finance and business economics
in the School of Management at the University of Ottawa. From 1989
until 2002 he was the chairman of the pension plan committee of
the Board of Governors of the University of Ottawa. He is co-author
of Canadian Financial Management and has published in many
different journals. He holds a BS in electrical engineering from
the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an AM and PhD in economics

Dr. Bruce Resnick
Dr. Resnick is the Joseph M. Bryan Jr. professor of banking and
finance at the Babcock Graduate School of Management at Wake Forest
University. Previously, he taught at Indiana University, the University
of Minnesota, and California State University. He has also served
as a visiting professor at the Helsinki School of Economics and
Business Administration in Finland. Dr. Resnick teaches MBA courses
in the areas of investments, portfolio management, and international
financial management. His research interests include market efficiency
studies of options and financial futures markets and empirical tests
of asset pricing models. Dr. Resnick has a DBA in finance from Indiana
University, an MBA from the University of Colorado and a BBA from

André Robitaille
André is executive director of the University of Quebec's
Pension Fund, with responsibility for overseeing the investment
of the pension fund and the administration of the benefits. The
fund has 8,200 plan members and assets of $1.5 billion. He is an
active member of the International Pension Group, the Canadian Pension
and Benefit Conference and the Pension Investment Association of

Michelle Savoy
Michelle is a senior vice-president of Capital Guardian (Canada),
Inc. with client relations and marketing responsibilities. Prior
to joining the company in 1998, she spent a brief period as an executive
search consultant with Spencer Stuart & Associates, Inc. Prior
to that, she spent 11 years at CIBC Wood Gundy Securities Inc. in
a variety of institutional client relationship roles, most recently
as managing director and global head of sales. Michelle earned a
BBA in finance and marketing from the University of Ottawa. She
is a member of the Toronto Society of Financial Analysts and is

Rajiv Silgardo
Rajiv is head of portfolio management and trading for Barclays Global
Investors Canada Limited. In addition, he is the chairman of the
investment committee overseeing the management of all Canadian investment
strategies. Rajiv is registered with the Ontario Securities Commission
as a senior investment counsel/portfolio manager and as a commodity
trading manager. He is also a member of the TSE Trading Policy Committee.
Rajiv has over 19 years of experience in investment management,
specifically with regard to the management of indexed or otherwise
structured equity and fixed income portfolios. He has a bachelor
and a master of commerce from Delhi University, a MBA from the University
of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and he has received his CFA designation.

John Sinclair
John is a senior vice-president and the chief investment officer
of the New Brunswick Investment Management Corporation. He is responsible
for the overall direction and coordination of the investment activity
at the firm. Most recently, John acted as vice-president of research
and private equity. Prior to joining the corporation in 2000, he
had worked in a number of corporate and structured finance positions
with a well-known global investment bank. John holds both a B.Sc.
and M.Sc. in civil engineering from the University of New Brunswick,
and a master of business administration with distinction from the
Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario.

Mary is manager, external managers, equities, with British Columbia
Investment Management Corporation (bcIMC). She joined bcIMC in 1995
and manages a portfolio of external managers encompassing Canadian,
U.S., and international equity mandates. Previously, she was a senior
investment analyst at CMHC Pension Fund, involved in both Canadian
and international equity portfolio management. Mary holds an honours

Tom Ulrich
Tom is president and chief executive officer of the Teachers
Retirement Allowances Fund (TRAF) of Manitoba. He has held this
position since 1999. In this role he is primarily responsible for
overseeing the administration of the pension plan for Manitobas
29,000 current, former and retired teachers and supervising the
investments of its assets. Previously, Tom spent 25 years in pensions
and benefits with The Manitoba Teachers Society. He currently
serves on the board of directors of Greystone Capital Management
Inc. and the Association of Canadian Pension Management (ACPM).
He is also a member of the Pension Investment Association of Canada.

Blake is the director, pension investments with the Local Authorities
Pension Plan (LAPP) in Edmonton. He manages asset mix policy, manager

on investment issues. He is formerly the vice-president and treasurer
of the Farm Credit Corporation in Regina and director, investments
and liability management with Saskatchewan Finance. Blake holds
the CMA and CFA designations and is currently a director of the
