YMG Capital Management Inc. was founded in 1983. Registered with the Ontario Securities Commission, the firm has over $14 billion in assets under management and employs over 65 investment professionals and support staff.

Established and known for providing disciplined quantitative strategies, product innovation and dedication to a high level of client service, the firm is one of the leading providers of active fixed income, tactical asset allocation and non-cash investment management in Canada.

Commencing as a provider of customized fixed income solutions to the institutional investment community, one of YMG's first mandates was a portfolio immunization for Massey Ferguson. Using the risk-controlled strategies associated with portfolio immunization, YMG developed several client relationships with some of Canada's largest insurance companies providing solutions to their asset-liability requirements.

In 1992, YMG entered into a joint venture relationship with First Quadrant out of Pasadena, California. The firm obtained the exclusive Canadian distribution rights for Tactical Asset Allocation (TAA), a quantitative process that extensively uses 'futures' to passively gain exposure to specific markets and to add value through shifts in asset mix. It was this discipline that allowed YMG to build up its expertise in the non-cash markets. We currently manage approximately $2 billion in TAA for a variety of large pension plans and institutions.

In January of 1998, YMG became a publicly listed company trading under the same ticker symbol. The company is 70% owned by employees with the remaining 30% float being held by a large number of institutional and retail clients.
