Andrew Spence is the chief executive officer of Spence Strategic Consulting Group. Previously, he managed a diverse range of active management strategies at a number of Canada’s biggest pension plans. Spence was also global head of rates and FX research at TD Securities and was seconded to the Bank of Canada as special adviser to the governor. He was also a member of the Monetary Policy Review Committee. Spence started his professional career as an economist at Her Majesty’s Treasury in London.
He is currently chair of the Toronto Foundation investment committee, an executive-in-residence at the International Centre for Pension Management and lectures at the University of Toronto’s Munk School of Global Affairs where he teaches a graduate course on Global Capital Markets.
