The 2001 Global Investment Conference returned to British Columbia's
Chateau Whistler in April. Again the Canadian Investment Review
brought together many of the world's foremost thought leaders on
the subject of international portfolio management. Participants
from Canada, the U.S. and the U.K. took part in two days of intensive
talks on global market trends, diversification strategies and more.
This package features summaries from 15 of the event's speakers.
That list includes a special conference report by Paul Halpern,
the Toronto Stock Exchange professor of finance at the Rotman School
of Management, University of Toronto. We also have two case study
reports to share. The first is from Bob Bertram, executive vice-president,
investments at the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan Board. The second
comes from Adel Sarwat, president and chief executive officer of
the newly founded Public Sector Pension Investment Board.
